Alta X RTK GPS Ground Station
With this RTK GPS Ground Station connected to your ground station computer, you can unlock Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) technology for centimeter location accuracy horizontally and vertically on any Alta X with F9P GPS installed (not compatible with Here2 GPS).
RTK Overview
RTK technology uses a pair of modules to increase positional accuracy. One module is installed on the aircraft (this module is called the “Rover") and the other will mount on a tripod and be connected to your ground station computer (the “Ground Station” module).
The Ground Station module will let your ground station computer send GPS corrections to the Rover module that increase precision from a few meters to a few centimeters.
Application
This kit comes with one module, mounting hardware and a USB cable. Here's what you will need, if you have:
1. An Alta X with F9P GPS (not Here2) and you want full RTK capability
- One RTK GPS Ground Station for your ground station computer
- A radio to communicate between the ground station computer and the Alta (FRX Pro, etc)
2. An Alta X with Here2 GPS, and you want fully RTK capability
- Two RTK GPS Ground Stations (one GPS module functions for your Rover and one for the ground station computer)
- A radio to communicate between the ground station computer and the Alta (FRX Pro, etc)
3. An Alta X with Here2 GPS, and you just want increased GPS performance
- One RTK GPS Ground Station for your Alta X
Notes
- If your computer (MacBook Pro, etc) does not have USB A ports, you will need a USB A-C adapter.
